“Swarovski Crystal World” is a museum in the small town of Wattens, 20 kilometers east of Innsbruck, Austria. It first opened in 1995 for the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Swarovski Company. This wondrous world, created by the artist Andre Heller is situated in the seven chambers of a cave at the entrance of which you will be greeted by a giant with crystal eyes and crystal-clear water running out of its mouth.

Nearby is also the Swarovski factory from whence these crystals and jewels come to feast every woman’s eyes.

Once you enter the Crystal World, you will be surrounded by galleries and expositions dedicated to crystals. Part of it is a three dimensional projection called “The Planet of Crystals”. There you will also find the Crystal Cathedral where thanks to its 590 glass pieces, color and sound flow together under its dome.

The Crystal World offers entertainment for kids, such as the Theatre of Crystals and numerous crystal figurine characters. The expertly selected lighting creates an atmosphere of a fairy tale world. Here you can enjoy all kinds of crystals, from the smallest (with a diameter of 0.8 mm) to a giant with a diameter of 40 cm and weighing 310 000 carats (62 kg), which are both in the Guinness book of records.

You will also have the opportunity for shopping. You can buy yourself the pendant, earrings and bracelets you have been dreaming for or buy a sparkling figurine for your home or as a gift for a loved one. And when you get tired of shopping you can have a coffee break, sit and relax surrounded by the colorful beauty of the crystals.
